Periodontitis is a serious form of gum disease that also affects the jawbone.

If characteristics of periodontitis are present, from an oral examination, a periodontal status is taken. This is an examination in which the spaces between tooth and gums are measured. Additional data such as tooth mobility is also included in the periodontium status. Based on this, a diagnosis is made and a personalised treatment plan created.
